I’m delighted to announce that my candidature for the Midhurst Division of West Sussex County Council elections on 7th May has been accepted. I will be standing, as many would expect, for the Conservative Party. I have been the district councillor at Chichester District Council for Easebourne, Lodsworth and Heyshott for the last 10 years.
Last night we formally launched my campaign and I’m delighted to have an excellent team supporting me. You can expect leaflets in the next few days. Indeed many of you may have already received a personal letter setting out my vision for Midhurst and the surrounding villages, including Harting, Rogate, Stedham and Milland.
Above all I believe Midhurst has untapped potential which is not being best served at the moment. We need to make ourselves the beating heart of the South Downs National Park. As I argued in an article The Future of Midhurst https://www.sussexexpress.co.uk/…/cllr-francis-hobbs… we have a number challenges and opportunities, and I will do my best to make them reality. My campaign is therefore based on:
* Common Sense Solutions to boost the local economy and, obviously, to resolve the Angel Hotel gridlock
* Balanced Stewardship to protect our stunning landscape
* Proven Experience based on 10 years experience of local government to ensure YOUR money is spent wisely.
I will post more shortly but, if you want to support my campaign, please let me know. If you want a stable, energised, experienced and entrepreneurial supporter for you or your immediate community, please vote for me on 7th May.
