Great to see Katy Bourne in Midhurst

At my monthly workshop yesterday was great to see and learn from Katy Bourne, Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner or PCC.

Katy is responsible for setting the strategic direction and priorities for Sussex Police through the Police & Crime Plan. This includes setting the police budget and local police precept – the amount residents pay for policing in their council tax.

With her impressive track record she was re-elected for a fourth term in 2024. – Learn more about her at the PCC site: 

Prior to being elected as PCC in 2012, Katy was an active District Councillor at Mid Sussex District Council where she sat on the Planning Committee and Overview & Scrutiny Committee.  

She was also a Parish Councillor serving Ansty & Staplefield Parish for 5 years.

With her experience in Sussex she will be an asset to my team as we plan for future elections in Midhurst and beyond.

Above all I believe, as councillors, we should enthuse others to become actively involved in our hard won democratic processes, to improve the lives of those in our local communities.
